Finding the One

OK...I'm taking Psychology this summer at school and my assignment was to write a poem about a Psychologist....

FINDING THE ONE

There once was a beautiful woman
Who wanted to save the world

So she chose a career
That dealt with confused anxiety and fear

There once was a beautiful woman
Who wanted to ease a psyche
One personality at a time
But had no knowledge to save her own mind

In a corner office high in the sky
No one knew she lived two lives
Married into millions but fighting every night
Some even deemed her a trophy wife

She tells clients how to remedy their own evils
But mentally she was not appeased
She dealt with her own issues and her mind was not at ease

She struggled with her own anxiety and fear
Anxiety that she could not make it on her own
And fear for her life
You see she had an abusive husband at home

Out of her many storms in life
One caused her internal strife
In fear for her life but scared to leave the millions behind
She finally placed a value on a peace of mind

One day she met a guy
That called her beautiful on the inside
Her knight in shining armor came and whisked her away
And her bottomless night began to turn to noon day

Overtime she developed a relationship
She would meet him every morning and every night
She began to smile and laugh after every fight
Her husband began to ask her, “What’s wrong with you”
She would reply, “I finally got it right.”

When her personal issues became thick as vapors
She gathered the courage to present the divorce papers
On them was a statement "my battle with demons are done"
And "I finally found the one"

From time to time she advises clients to find a guy
Who calls them beautiful on the inside
And would give his son to die
One boldly asked, “Who did you find?”
She replied, “I found God”
